“Do you remember when word was bond, a fleeting promise in the light of the dawn.
Barren December under a falling sky, the end of days and a reason to die.”
While to some those are just the intro lyrics to Lamb of God’s ‘Ghost Walking’, to me it is a legitimate question…
Enter the mind of the wolf.
Maybe it’s the old soul in me, the inner romantic wishing he was born in simpler times, but I truly do romanticise about the old school honour and power of giving ‘your word’.
One day a ‘promise’ is motivational, the next it is a burden you can discard without consequence.
TL;DR – First in my ‘Disdain For Plebs’ Rant series. This is my disdain for the current world. We live with weak words, masked in ‘sincerity’ with no weight and power. Word is no longer bond. No one stands for anything. Our generation lacks serious backbone. Simulation(s) rule our safe little lives as tradition is frowned upon and ostracised from society.
